Hi been asked to build a Ubuntu server as a guest machine on a VMware server. It also indicates that you can sync to skydrive on its product web page - Opens a new window It appears that it uses either USB or WiFi for data transfer - so if you configure it correctly it should be able to do both. I don't use GoodReader (since it is an iOS app and I own zero iOS devices) but if it has a file location on the computer where your boss is able to put files that they want to sync to GoodReader if you have the ability to map that folder to a folder that is within the OneDrive file hierarchy on their computer then it would sync the files to GoodReader and to OneDrive - keeping an organization copy while also allowing them to use the app that they want to on the go. I think the intention was to prevent user's from unintentionally downloading TOO MUCH data onto a mobile device - but clearly it also prevents people from managing file portability that would like to have that option. OneDrive for Windows Phone doesn't have the option to download an entire folder either. Unless the Goodreader UI is something that makes it that much more desirable. It would seem to require a lot more effort to make Goodreader work through OneDrive than to just use OneDrive. And, I'm not familiar with GoodReader at all. What subscription plan do you have with Office 365? If you have the right subscription it would include access to the Office for iPad app and allow your boss to EDIT documents on the go - which might give them motivation to use the company owned method over Goodreader or Dropbox.ĭropbox does have business plans available - they are pretty pricey in comparison to Office 365, but in case it isn't a fight you can win.I don't know what the corporate control features are for the business plans though. It has links to the earlier posts that highlighted other features. Here is the latest blog post from Microsoft on the app's newest release so it only talks about features that were added. Do you have access to an iPad that you can use to try it out? And the syncing options for all the other devices that I use operate on a "folder level" - you can browse and open individual files but the sync button that is in the web interface activates a syncing of the folder (and all child objects). I don't use an iPad but maybe someone else on here does.
